What to expect during a Photo Session

📅 Before the Session

  1. Consultation: You’ll usually discuss your goals with the photographer—what kind of photos you want, the style (e.g., candid, posed, editorial), and any specific ideas or themes.

  2. Location & Timing: Decide on a location (studio, outdoor, home) and time. Golden hour (shortly after sunrise or before sunset) is popular for natural light.

  3. Wardrobe Planning: The photographer might offer tips on what to wear—usually solid colors, minimal patterns, and coordinated outfits for group shots.

  4. Prep Tips: You may be advised to get plenty of rest, stay hydrated, and avoid trying new skincare or hair products right before the shoot.

📸 During the Session

  1. Warm-Up Shots: The photographer may start with a few casual shots to help you relax and get comfortable in front of the camera.

  2. Posing Guidance: Don’t worry if you’re not a natural poser—photographers often guide you on how to stand, where to look, and how to position your hands.

  3. Multiple Takes: Expect to take several shots of each pose or setup to ensure the best results.

  4. Lighting Adjustments: The photographer may adjust lighting or reflectors, especially in studio or indoor settings.

  5. Breaks: For longer sessions, there may be short breaks to change outfits or touch up makeup.

🖼️ After the Session

  1. Photo Selection: You might get a proof gallery to choose your favorite shots.

  2. Editing & Retouching: The photographer will edit selected images for lighting, color correction, and minor retouching.

  3. Delivery: Final images are usually delivered digitally, though prints or albums may be available.
